2 Corinthians 1:9-10 He Will Yet Deliver
2 Corinthians 1:9-10 (KJV) But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
For the Apostle Paul and the mission team with him on their missionary journeys, life was fraught with constant mortal danger. He testified in 2 Corinthians 1:8 (KJV) For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life.
The opposition to the gospel advance was a spiritual warfare that has its outworkings in threats to their very lives. Though the hostilities were tremendously pressurizing, the Lord was at hand deliver them out of their desperate hostile environment.
They were not dismayed but trusted the Lord even when the way ahead seemed impossible. For the Lord, all things are possible. Resting in the Lord was victory. Amen.
