Recounting with Much Thanksgiving the Year of Grace 2025

(1) 1 January

Reading of the New Testament Books twice from January – April 2025 was launched using the Bible without chapters and verses so that members and friends may develop the spiritual discipline of reading through the Bible.

Daily Devotion from selected verses is published in the church website and app for the edification of members and friends.

(2) 3 January

Weekly Family Devotions based on the Westminster Shorter Catechism 1 January – 11 May 2025) and Westminster Larger Catechism (12 May – 31 December 2025) with weekly recording by Pastor Lek.

(3) 5 January

Commencement on the series of messages “Opening the New Testament” with “Opening Matthew (1)”.

(4) 5 January

Adult Sunday Class continues on the Book of 1 Corinthians. 

(5) 8 January

Prayer Meeting resumes with exhortation from the Book of Isaiah “Let the People Renew Their Strength” (Isaiah 41:1-29) which began on 14 September 2022. 

(6) 26 January

BHBPC’s 11th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service. The theme was “Sing Aloud Unto God Our Strength” (Psalm 81:1a). 

(7) 4 February
The 7am Service begins every Tuesday and Friday from February – April with 24 sessions. 18 sessions by Mr Lucas Lek on the Books of Joshua and Judges and 6 sessions on the Book of Philippians by Pastor Lek. The messages are on “live” stream.

(8) 9 March
The 10th Anniversary of YF/YAF was commemorated with “David’s Faith” message taken from Hebrews 11:32e.

(9) 23 March
BHBPC’s 11th Annual Congregational Meeting was held after worship service with an exhortation from Matthew 28:19-20 on the church’s mission to fulfil the Great Commission.

(10) 18 April
Good Friday Service was held at the Worship Centre. Message: Christ Crucified – The Power and Wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:17-31).

(11) 20 April
Sunrise Service was held in the William Booth Chapel with the exhortation “The Resurrection of Christ” (Matthew 28:1-20).

(12) 12-16 May
Reformation Study Tour with group of 10 led by Pastor Lek with visits to Germany, Switzerland and France covering 10 cities.

(13) 10-13 June
Family Bible Camp was held at Mandai Rainforest Resort. The theme “Walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16).

4 July
The 7am Service resumes from July – October. The 35 sessions held on Tuesday and Friday. Mr Lucas Lek preached from the Minor Prophets covering 28 sessions and Pastor Lek preached from the Book of James covering 7 sessions.

(15) 17 August
Begin the study of 2 Corinthians at the Adult Sunday Class having completed the study of 1 Corinthians.

(16) 7 September
Gospel Rally 2024 was held at the Mandarin Service and the English Service in the Worship Centre with the theme “Eternal Life by Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:21).

(17) 26 October
Commemoration of 16th Century Protestant Reformation on Reformation Sunday, with a message entitled “The Reformation – A Spiritual Standard Uplifted” (Isaiah 59:15-20).

(18) 10 December
The Westminster Annotations Volume 2 (Job – Malachi) was published and launched during the Old Paths Conference.

(19) 10-12 December
The Church’s 3rd Old Paths Conference was held at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. Theme: “Reclaiming the Strength of the English Reformation”.

(20) 22 December
Baptism of Dennis Tan Keng Huat at the Singapore General Hospital.

(21) 23 December – 27 December
Homegoing of Dennis Tan Keng Huat. Vigil Services were held on 23 – 26 December. Funeral and burial on 27 December.

(22) 24 December
Planner 2026 was delivered for distribution.

Christmas Praise Service was held at the Worship Centre with the message “Unto You This Day Is Born a Saviour” (Luke 2:11).

(23) 28 December
Lord’s Day Service with Infant baptism of Abigail Lim Xin Ning, daughter of Lim Zhuo Yan and Grace Ho Fong Hui.

(24) 31 December
Year-End Service was held at the Worship Centre with a message entitled “Thou Crownest the Year with Thy Goodness” (Psalm 65:11).
