Titus 2:11-14 Looking For That Blessed Hope

Titus 2:11-14 (KJV)  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,  12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;  13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;  14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Salvation has come to man with the advent of Christ. Showing the way by which man’s destructive sin nature can be remedied through Christ’s atonement work on their behalf.

It would enable the redeemed to be purged of their sins and be reconciled to God. With the access to God’s grace to deny ungodliness (all things opposed to God and His Word) and worldly lusts (the indulgence of sin), thus enabled to live soberly (not in drunkenness but spiritual alert), righteously (living according to God’s commandments) and godly (in devotion to God through Christ).

The return of Christ is the anchor of hope that the believer set his compass of life enabled him to live holily with Christ-enabled strength to do good for His glory. Amen.
