1 Corinthians 15:57-58 Be Ye Steadfast

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (KJV)  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

The exhortation of the Apostle Paul to the church, which he addressed as my beloved brethren, that they may be steadfast in their faith, following the Lord, doing His work diligently. Their labour is not in vain in the Lord.

To be steadfast literally means “to be seated”, that is, to be settled, to be strong and confident in the faith in view of the truth that the believer will be raised up. To be “unmoveable” means “not detracted”, staying on course.

And giving thanks to God because of Christ’s resurrection from the dead, sin and death has been defeated. Through Christ, there will be a future resurrection of the dead in Christ. Amen.
