Psalm 119:143-144 Trouble And Anguish Have Taken Hold On Me

Psalm 119:143-144 (KJV)  Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights.  144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live. 

The psalmist saw his eternal circumstances as intimidating and threatening, he said, “Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me”. Yet he was not dismayed, he meditated upon the commandments of the LORD that gave him joy and comfort.

Taking time in God’s Word enabled him to overcome the overwhelming tide confronting him. He took time to find in God’s Word the righteous ways, the way that the LORD has chosen for him so that he may walk therein.

He knew in his heart, convinced by faith, with the LORD leading the way, he shall live. Indeed, in Christ, the fountain of life lies all our solutions. Amen.
