Psalm 119:57-58 Thou Art My Portion, O LORD

Psalm 119:57-58 (KJV) Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words. I entreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.

For the psalmist, God was everything to him. His heart is fully consecrated to follow the LORD.

While the world will seek after wealth, fame and pleasure, the psalmist sought the LORD as his portion. He knew that without Him, he can do nothing.

He sought for the LORD’s mercy upon him for he understood well that unless the LORD would bless His ways, there is no way forward. He entreated the favour of the LORD, so must God’s people. Amen.
