Deuteronomy 32:11-12 The LORD Alone Did Lead Him

Deuteronomy 32:11-12 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

The LORD leads His people who are desolate and lost. They truly needed Him – Deuteronomy 32:9-10 (KJV)  For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.  10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

As the parent eagle that cares for its young, so the LORD doth protect and defend His people. The imagery of the eagle attests wonderfully the care of God for His people.

When His people had their eye upon the LORD, their sight focused upon Him, in that sense, “there was not strange with him.” Also, while in the wilderness, they were far from idolatrous influences both in Egypt and Canaan. A most blessed state, with the LORD alone leading His people, and they undistracted. Amen.
