Colossians 3:24 For Ye Serve the Lord Christ

Colossians 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ.

The Apostle Paul encouraged the church to persevere in serving the Lord Jesus Christ. There is reward for faithful service awaiting them that the Lord will give to them – ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance.

He exhorts the church to know the surety of Christ’ promise – John 12:26 (KJV)  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

This is Jesus’ prayer to the Father that the saints will be glorified with Him. This is the comfort for all cross-bearing saints – John 17:24 (KJV)  Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. Amen.
