1 Timothy 6:17 Trust In The Living God

1 Timothy 6:17 (KJV)  Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 

To be high-minded is to be arrogant. Riches and humility are not seemingly a common sight.

The Apostle Paul instructs God’s people not to trust in uncertain riches – Proverbs 23:5 (KJV) Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.

Trust rather in the living God, the Giver of all things. He knows how to give to His people who gives them riches all things to enjoy. Let His people therefore cherish the Lord in thanksgiving for giving Himself to us. What we have Him, we have everything we need. Amen.
