2 Timothy 4:17 Delivered Out of the Mouth of the Lion
2 Timothy 4:17 (KJV) Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
Thick in the gospel work, the Apostle Paul was constantly in spiritual battles. He testified of his precarious state about to be devoured, out of mouth of the lion, the Lord delivered.
Jesus says “Lo, I am with you alway.” Christ’s disciples are not engaged in spiritual warfare in the gospel work without the Lord presence and power over the work. He testified, “Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me and strengthen me.”
The gospel message needs to be proclaimed but there are many adversaries. Christ’s disciples are encouraged to take courage and persevere with the work. Amen.
