Lord’s Day, Vol. 13 No. 24

Family Bible Camp 2025

Thank God for gathering 70 campers for Blessed Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church’s Family Bible Camp from 10-13 June 2025. The theme: Walk in the Spirit (Gal. 5:16).

The Christian life is “life in the Spirit”, full of spiritual and heavenly desires, as a citizen of the kingdom of God. He has escaped the corruption that is in the world through lusts. A partaker of the divine nature that the Holy Spirit indwelling him imparts, through the exceeding great and precious promises in the Word of God (2 Peter 1:4). The Christian, to be spiritual, must “walk by means of the Spirit.”

12 June 2025

The Christian finds fulfilment not in meat and drink but in righteousness, peace and the joy of the Holy Ghost (Rom. 14:17).

13 June 2025

He has a thirst for righteousness and is wholly satisfied – Matthew 5:6 (KJV) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

He has real inner peace in his heart, the forgiveness of sin, resting completely in the atoning work of Christ for his salvation through faith (Eph. 2:13-15; Rom 5:1), having real rest (sabbath) in his soul, that is, spiritual rest in Christ – Hebrews 4:3 (KJV) For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Most of all, he has the joy of the Holy Ghost, not the pseudo-happiness that this world offers, but real joy.

This is a picture of a man who walk in the Spirit. A man who is spiritually mature, living right in the centre of God’s will, able to see through the deception that is in the world, though persecuted, living the abundant life (John 10:10) unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Eph. 4:13).

This is a reality of life in the Spirit. The workings of the Holy Spirit in the Christian’s life is little understood. It is no wonder, Christians are not growing and living the overcoming life that God’s Word promised them (Gal. 5:16).

We looked to understand the workings of the Holy Spirit in the Christian’s life so that God’s people may walk in the Spirit and reap all the benefits of that blessed life.
