2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 Everlasting Consolation and Good Hope Through Grace

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (KJV)  Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,  17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. 

In a world that will wax worse and worse, the proliferation of evil there is a place of safety for the redeemed of God through Jesus Christ.

There is first of all a future to look forward for God’s people, an everlasting consolation, having the assurance that their souls are saved and secure in the Lord for eternity and therefore good hope to the future. This assurance comes with the unfailing grace of God that works towards not only the salvation of the soul but the gift of a glorified body.

Therefore, amidst persecution and oppressing evil in a hostile world, there is ample supply of God’s comfort through the Holy Spirit to enable God’s people to be light and salt, through sanctified word and deed. Amen.
