2 Corinthians 1:15, A Second Benefit

2 Corinthians 1:15 And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;

The Apostle Paul sought to be with the church in Corinth to strengthen their hands in mutual fellowship and encouragement. He prayed, God willing, to be able to make that second visit. He does so with the assurance that he will be received as God’s servant, being accorded the right hand of fellowship, a fellowship of trust, esteem and affection. [William MacDonald]

They would receive him knowing that he would be there by God’s appointment. He sets his heart to convey God’s truth and His love to God’s people. Life for the Apostle Paul in all his ministering was a journey in the will of God and there will come a time when he can minister no more.

Praise the Lord for spiritual fellowship, indeed, worship is comely. Amen.
